About the event

The Energy and Transport Transition

At COP28, 124 countries committed to tripling globally installed renewable capacity by 2030. Policy barriers stop to many of them from fully capitalising on their renewable resources. These barriers will hinder their international commitments, and net zero goals. This session will look at the gap between the right policies and realities on the ground. How will the pledge to triple renewables go from a pledge to reality.

Key questions to be addressed will include the following:

  • What are the gaps between the right policy and the reality on the ground in geographies such as China, India and Argentina?
  • What examples of best practice exist from countries that have successfully pulled this through on the ground, what are the common themes and how can other countries learn from this?
  • What collaboration is needed between business and policy makers to deliver on international commitments?
